Ways to Promote Your Blog
If you are new to Internet Marketing or Affiliate Marketing you may be wondering why you aren't making any sales. The main reason is probably because you aren't getting enough traffic to your site. Using a blog is one of the best ways to increase the traffic to your website, but you then need to know ways to promote your blog.
By traffic I mean visitors and without those visitors you aren't going to make any sales at all. So how can you increase your traffic?
First of all you have to make sure you have chosen your keywords wisely and submitted your site to all the major search engines.
Once you have done that you can concentrate on getting more backlinks to your site. A backlink is a link to your website from another site. The best kind of backlink to have is one that has your keywords in the anchor text.
You can get backlinks by submitting your site to link directories, many of which are free, and by writing articles and submitting them to article directories. Another great way to get backlinks is by Social Networking. Be careful here and make sure you are allowed to submit your own site as some of them don't allow it.
You should also create a blog and post on it as often as possible, making sure you have a link of your main site on it and include your keywords in a signature link at the end of each post. Also comment on other peoples blog's and make sure you include a link to your site.
Another great way of getting traffic is by creating a lead capture page that offers something free like information or ebooks. Everyone likes something for free. This will also capture subscribers for you to any newsletter that you may have created in your autoresponder. Put this on your blog and again include a link to your site.
Forums are another great way of getting traffic to your site, make sure you read the forum rules carefully first, many of them will allow you to include a link to your website in your signature.
By doing all of the above you will be well on your way to getting a lot more traffic to your site. Which has got to be good for any business.
There are now absolutely thousands of people who have blogs on the Internet. A lot of these are just written for fun or as a way of keeping in touch with family and friends in the form of a diary. If however you have a business blog you are going to want to find out all the ways to promote your blog that you possibly can.
One of the first things you are going to need to to is make sure your blog is search engine optimised and all your posts make full use of keywords. This will ensure that the the search engines index your blog. If you have a website make sure you link to it via your blog and vice versa.
Squidoo is great site you can use, create several lenses on squidoo and make sure you have links to your blog on them. You can also add your blog's RSS feed URL to your lenses, which means even more exposure for you.
Make sure you "ping" both your blog and your lenses every time you submit a new post as this lets the weblog tracking sites know that your blog has been updated.
Submit your blog to blog directories, these too will ask for your RSS feed and they will automatically know when you have updated your blog.
There are also a lot of Socialbookmarking sites on the Internet now, after you have written a new post simply submit it to a few of them. Make sure to read their terms and conditions though as some of them don't let you submit your own site. Most of the others insist you submit other peoples sites as well as your own, so make sure you do this or you will be banned.
Another easy way to advertise your blog is in forum signatures, simply set up your signature and take part in forums regularly, answer questions when you can and become trusted and respected in the forum. Other members will soon start clicking on your signature links. Don't spam forums with advertisements, or these too will ban you.
These are just a few of the ways to promote your blog, there are many more, but these will help get you started you should soon start to see an increase in traffic to your blog.
