Hi everyone,

So far we’ve discussed promoting your business using blogging, article marketing and by using traffic exchanges. Today I’d like to tell you about how important it is to join online forums and to share with you all my good news. I’ve just accepted an invitation to become a Moderator of  the Women Entrepreneurs section at  EvanCarmichael.com Forums!

Joining online forums is a must for anyone who wants their business to succeed online..why? Because it lets you interact with others, it lets you get to know people in a similar situation to you, you can bounce ideas off each other and offer services to one another and most importantly it will enable you to become known and trusted on the Internet.

There are literally thousands of forums on the Internet today covering every topic imaginable and they all consist of communities of like minded people, all giving each other help and advice, there are people in most of them that are experts in their field and I guarantee you’ll be learning something new most days, if there isn’t a discussion on what you want to know about all you have to do is introduce a new thread and ask a question, talk to the other members, you’ll make some new friends and very soon you’ll be helping others yourself, and that really is a great feeling.

Another great (and FREE) way to promote your website is by advertising on traffic exchanges. And it really is so simple.

The first thing you will need to do is create a free account at one of the many traffic exchanges out there like Traffic Swarm. I suggest using a lead capture page rather than a long sales page as this will bring you better results..people using traffic exchanges only hang around on your page for about 20 seconds as all they are doing is surfing for credits, the same as you will be.

Once you have set up your account you need to create a good advertisement, one that will encourage people to click on it, it’s a good idea to create several, all with different headlines but linked to the same lead capture page. When you first sign up, go surfing for credits and take note of which of the opportunities make you want to click on them, you’ll soon get the idea.

One thing to beware of, when you are surfing for credits, don’t be tempted to sign up for everything that comes on the page, it really can be easy to do. If you are looking for something in particular and you come across it, that’s great, go for it, otherwise just keep surfing, the more credits you earn the more times your advertisement will be shown.

That’s really all there is to it, didn’t I tell you it was simple? And all for free, unless you want to upgrade that is, but there really is no need, especially not at first and if you are on a limited budget.

Well I was pleasantly surprised and you will be too.

You are going to need a title, the main content of your article and a resource box. Make sure the title reflects the content of your article properly and is something that is likely to be searched for regularly, you can type the title into Google and see how many results it comes up with. The main content is the article itself..remember , when submitting to directories, no links or ads in here, these must be saved for the resource box.

Before I went away on holiday I promised to go into more detail about how to start promoting your online business, today I’m going to tell you how to start off with blogging.

Blogging is a great way to increase traffic to your website and any programs you want to promote. So what is a blog and what is blogging? A blog is exactly what you are reading now and it is an abbreviation of web log and I’m the one doing the blogging, that is I’m  the one writing on the blog and believe me it really does boost your traffic. In fact it is one of the easiest ways to start promoting your online business!

All you have to do is get a free blog from either Blogger or Wordpress, if you are new to the internet I recommend Blogger as it is much easier to understand than Wordpress..it does take a while to get the hang of Wordpress but it well worth it in the long run. Whichever one you decide to start with do it now and start promoting your online business!

By writing reviews of your product, opportunity or website and adding links to them you will soon be well on your way. Make sure you post regularly on your blog to keep the traffic coming in, also comment on other people’s blogs and add a link to your website or blog..this too will bring you more visitors..after all if no one is visiting your site, no one is going to buy anything! You really must start promoting your online business, without traffic you are wasting your time, everyone..and I mean everyone, who has any kind of site on the web will tell you this.
