Hi everyone,
In my post called Build more Backlinks I talked briefly about Squidoo. They say you can Build a Squidoo Lens in about 10 minutes although in my experience it takes a little longer to get it looking the way you want it.
Squidoo is a great free way to drive more traffic to your website and you can create good quality pages dedicated to any given niche.
The first thing you need to do is go over to Squidoo and create an account, once you have done that you will have to give your lens an official URL, it will look something like www.squidoo.com/YOURTITLEHERE and you may have to try a few different variations before you find one that is free. After you’ve done that you will need to name your lens, you can call it anything you like (within reason) but make sure it reflects the content of what your lens is going to be about.
The next thing you will need to do when you start to build a Squidoo lens is pick a main category and give it a some ‘tags’. Tags are just keywords and are very important on Squidoo, but don’t worry, you can add more and change and delete them as you want.
You will also be asked which template you want to use, I always go with ‘Do My Own Thing’ but the choice is yours and how you want to get paid..yes you get paid too! It won’t be a lot at first but it does get better the more lenses you create.
Ok you’re up and running, now it’s time to build a Squidoo lens!
Need more help? Then get your copy of my ebook Squidoo Basics which will soon have you building lenses with the best of them..and earning money too!
Take care,
Carol

Hi again,
When writing articles online you need to know how to go about optimising your articles with keywords. First do a search in Google for a few ideas for a title, type in the title you would like to use and see how many search results it brings up, it will tell you this at the top right hand side of the page. Don’t aim for those with the highest results as you are going to get loads of competition, you want to get traffic to your blog or article so try to go for something that has an average amount of searches, experiment with this a bit, you’ll soon get the hang of it
Once you’ve decided on a title make sure you use it a few times throughout your article, not too many or you’ll be accused of spam, two or three times should be good and bold those keywords especially if you are using them in your blog.
You can also go over to Quintura this is a free site that will give you words that are related to your keyword phrase, just type in the phrase in the search bar at the top and it will search out all the words for you. Include some of these words in your article. this is called latent symantic indexing and the search engines love it. You are now well on your way to optimising your articles with keywords and this will help drive traffic to your article.
Take care,
Carol

Hi again everybody,
You probably all realise by now that the more backlinks your site has the higher your Google Page Rank will be and the the more your site will show up in the search engines. In fact now that you have a website on the Internet the main job you have got to do is concentrate is how to build more backlinks.
So how do you go about getting more backlinks? If you’ve followed the advice in my earlier posts you’ve already started doing it. You should by now have created a blog and started adding some content to it on a regular basis. The thing to do now is make sure you have at least one link to your main website somewhere on your blog. I have a link in the blogroll, and others in my ‘About‘ page and ‘The Plug-in Profit Site‘ pages using my keywords as anchor text. There are also a few more links leading to my site scattered around this blog. This is helping me to build more backlinks all the time.
When writing your articles you should also have a link to your website in the resource box, preferably using your keywords as anchor text as this will help the search engines to index your site easily.
Forum signatures are another good way to build more backlinks, again it’s best if you use the keywords to your website as anchor text for the link. If you’re not sure how to create a link using anchor text this video will explain it for you.
Ok, now for something new. I suggest you now go and create a Squidoo lens If you’re not sure what to do go and take a look at one of my Home Earners lens . It’s a good idea to add the RSS Feed URL of your blog to it and don’t forget, put a few backlinks to your website in there too.
You can of course use a link submitter to build more backlinks too and they are a great way of doing it, but be careful to only submit to a few directories a day when doing this as the search engines will get suspicious and it could do more harm than good, take it slowly, add to about 5 directories a day and it will help you enormously.
Doing all this will help you build more backlinks and over time the amount of backlinks you have will grow and so will your page rank and search engine popularity and with it your website traffic will increase.
Until next time,
take care,
Carol
