Thanks for returning. Did you remember to subscribe to my RSS feed?.You can now subscribe using email or even your mobile phone - just click the links on the top right of the blog to find out more!

Have you ever wished that you could create banners and splash pages easily?

If you are using traffic exchanges to advertise your website, and you should be, as they can generate a huge amount of traffic when used correctly, then I bet the answer is yes. After all why would you want to waste a lot of your valuable time creating banners, splash pages, etc. when you should be actively promoting your business?

Well now creating these graphics can be made much easier. All you need to do is point and click and you’re done! There is no need for Photoshop, Flash or anything else complicated, all you need to do is use your web browser to design high performing graphics. I’ve found a great program called Instant Banner Creator that has a point and click three step wizard, where you can easily create high performing banners, buttons, headers, footers and peel ads.

It has high converting templates, clip art, fonts and all the stuff you need to create great graphics… and you just drag and drop them onto the templates, save and that’s it!

And if you don’t have a web host yet it’s no problem, Instant Banner Creator will host all the images you create for you, and the best part is this program is absolutely free!

If you are not sure how to use Traffic Exchanges to your best advantage then head on over to Network Marketing Advance and read a post  I wrote about it there…don’t forget to check out the forums while you’re there!

Take care,

Carol

The Best Ways To Boost Your Blog Traffic Using Social Media And Web 2.0

Posted on April 7th, 2009 in Blogging, Getting Started by Carol Aston

Once you have got your blog up and running and have started adding content to it,you are going to need to drive traffic (visitors) to your site. So what are the best ways to boost your blog traffic using social media and web 2.0?

For those of you who are new to all this I’ll explain what these are as simply as I can. I remember when I first started out online, it drove me nuts trying to plough through all the jargon and geek speak and translate everything into plain English!

Ok first Social Media:

Social Media refers to any website where the users can contribute to the sites content. A few examples are blogs, forums, and user groups.

Next is Web 2.0 ( this one had me confused for quite a while I can tell you!):

It made it easier for me when I found an explanation for the differences between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 so I’m going to do the same:

Web 1.0 is simply an ordinary static website. You can view it on the internet but cannot contribute in any way to it

Web 2.0 is totally different in that you can add comments, ask questions, express your opinions, leave tips and advice, upload photos, videos and much more, depending on the website.

So how can you use these to your advantage and find the best ways to boost your traffic using social media and web 2.0?

First you need to go and create accounts at several social bookmarking sites, some of the best are:

Technorati

Digg

Stumbleupon

Mixx

Propeller

Delicious

Create profiles in all of them, making sure you add all the links they allow. Also make sure you read the Terms and Conditions in each account, especially Digg

Sign up for a free account with Onlywire and you can submit your blog posts to all these site..and more, in one go.

Also make sure you sign up for Twitter, it’s micro blogging at it’s best, once you’ve learned how to use it you won’t look back!

I also suggest you create an account at Social Marketing Central, make sure you complete your profile, add links to your website and blog and add any rss feeds you have. Join some of the groups in there, make friends and get active, others will soon start clicking your links!

Submit your blog to Blog Directories, here’s a couple of the best:

MyBlogLog

BlogCatalog

Again create your profiles in these and join groups and communities..start neworking! Get your name..and your website out there, the more you read in these communities, the more you will learn and you will son be offering advice to others.

You can also find more great advice on how to promote a blog at ProBlogger

Now you know a bit more about the best ways to boost your blog traffic using social media and web 2.0 you should soon see an increase in visitors to your site and be well on your way to making money with a blog.

Take care,

Carol

Making Money With A Blog

Posted on April 1st, 2009 in Blogging, Getting Started by Carol Aston

can be one hardest things to do online if you are not sure how to go about it.

If you’ve set up your and you are adding regular content and have started to drive traffic to it you have made a good start but there is still a lot more work to be done as I myself realised in the last couple of weeks.

Most bloggers aren’t making any money at all. They are loading their sites with ads, affiliate links and affiliate programs and they are also  getting traffic. But they are making nothing or very little money. And that’s the number 1 complaint most bloggers have - they just can’t make money with their blogs.

If you were around when Jack Humphrey, the blogging and blog SEO guy, released the Authority Black Book and remember the entire web buzzing about it, you will know how good he is at making money with a blog.

Well the good news is he is now giving away more of his secrets.

Jack’s on a mission to change that for thousands of people this year, starting with this video.

If you’re mystified by or cannot figure out how anyone can doing it, this video is going to open your eyes.

This is something no one has talked about and that Jack hasn’t even shared fully with his mastermind group.

Most of all, it’s easy and quick to implement!

He’s also giving away a full guide called, simply, the “Blog Money Guide.”  As understated as it sounds, it is packed with great tips on generating real income from blogging, a lot of the advice is geared towards Affiliate Marketing.

I’ve been putting a lot of his advice and tips into action myself this last week or so and have seen some really good changes for the better.

I’m now off to use even more of his tips to make sure my blog gets even better and make sure I can be one of  those who know what it is like to be making money with a blog. I hope Jack’s advice helps you as much as it has me.

Take care,

Carol
